Noman Ali reaches career-high ranking in ICC Test standings

DUBAI – Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali has reached a career-best position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings following his remarkable performance in the second Test against the West Indies in Multan.

Noman, who became the first Pakistani spinner to claim a Test hat-trick, finished with match figures of 10 for 121. His outstanding performance has earned him a four-place jump, reaching 5th position with 806 rating points. He is only the 12th Pakistani bowler to surpass the 800-point mark in Tests and is currently the only Pakistani player in the top 20.

West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican also saw a significant rise, moving up 16 places to 25th position. He gained a total of 28 places over the two Tests, taking 19 wickets and winning the Player of the Series award.

Other notable changes include:

  • Kemar Roach moving up one spot to 18th.
  • Gudakesh Motie climbing six places to 58th.
  • Sajid Khan rising two places to 21st.
  • Abrar Ahmed also advancing two spots to 50th.

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite‘s second-innings half-century, which contributed to their 120-run win, has propelled him up by eight places to 44th.

For Pakistan, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has moved closer to the top 10, advancing from 17th to 15th position in the rankings.
