Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervaiz Malik addressed the Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday, emphasizing that, following the finalization of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, no restrictions have been placed on industries importing raw materials. This statement was made in response to a question posed by Member National Assembly (MNA) Mussarat Rafique Mahesar during the question hour of the 10th National Assembly session.

Malik highlighted the government’s commitment to increasing exports and enhancing the competitiveness of businesses. He reassured that the Ministry of Finance has not imposed any restrictions on raw material imports since the completion of the IMF program.
Additionally, Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti provided insights into the National Tariff Policy 2019, stating that the government has rationalized 6,500 tariff lines out of a total of 7,580 and reduced 2,198 tariff lines to zero. He noted that the government has allocated Rs 22 billion in relief to industries and traders and is organizing trade expos to further boost the country’s exports.
