New Zealand Opts to Bowl Against Bangladesh in Champions Trophy Clash

In the sixth match of the Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The Blackcaps, looking to cement their place in the semi-finals, made two changes to their lineup. Kyle Jamieson was brought in to replace Nathan Smith, while Rachin Ravindra replaced the unwell Daryl Mitchell.

Bangladesh, also with semi-final aspirations, made adjustments of their own. Veteran Mahmudullah returned to the team, and Nahid Rana is set to make his Champions Trophy debut. Soumya Sarkar and Tanzid Shakib were left out.

A victory for New Zealand will guarantee them a spot in the semi-finals alongside India in Group A. The Blackcaps are coming off a dominant performance in Lahore, where Will Young and Tom Latham’s centuries led them to victory. Bangladesh, on the other hand, is fighting to stay in contention after losing their opener against India.

New Zealand currently sits second in Group A behind India, while Bangladesh is in third place. With both teams eyeing a crucial win, the contest promises high stakes and intense competition.
