Javed Akhtar on 26/11

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]As the country’s chief representative, Indian poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar attended the seventh edition of the Faiz Festival in Lahore. The Indian poet spoke on the 26/11 attack in Mumbai during his session at the event, noting “how the perpetrators behind it are still roaming free in Pakistan and remarked that this thing wounded Indians till now.”

Pakistanis questioned the author about “why he was promoting hate at a literature festival” as they watched the video of Akhtar’s speech go viral online. He was also reminded of “Kulbhushan and Abhinandan” by internet users, who pointed out that they did not arrive in Pakistan from Egypt or Norway.

On the other hand, Pakistanis also criticised the supporters of Javed Akhtar in the crowd during the Faiz Festival. Sumaira Jajja, a journalist, wrote: “Shame on the Pakistanis who were applauding him; they had no self-respect. These sites all provide room for those like JA who need to reflect. A Pakistani family who was visiting the Haji Ali Dargah in Bombay slept on the street because no hotels would take them in “.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
