Netanyahu has stated that Israel will exact a heavy price for the revenge attacks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Wednesday that Israel will respond decisively to any attacks against it, following the recent killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and a senior Hezbollah leader in Beirut. Netanyahu highlighted that Israel has dealt significant blows to Iran’s proxies, including Hamas and Hezbollah, but did not specifically address Haniyeh’s assassination, which has increased fears of a broader Middle Eastern conflict.

In a televised address, Netanyahu warned of challenging days ahead and assured that Israel is prepared for any scenario. He emphasized that Israel would impose severe consequences for any aggression against it from any source.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military announced the death of Fuad Shukr, identified as Hezbollah’s top commander and linked to an attack in the Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of a dozen young people. Hezbollah confirmed Shukr’s death on Wednesday, shortly after Hamas announced Haniyeh’s assassination. Despite the widespread assumption that Israel was behind the Tehran attack, Netanyahu’s government did not claim responsibility and refrained from commenting on Haniyeh’s killing.
