Nation Stands United With Armed Forces Amid Rising Tensions Says PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the country’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s armed forces, stating that every inch of the nation’s territory would be defended amid growing tensions with India. Speaking at the passing out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, he emphasized that while Pakistan prefers peace, it must never be mistaken for weakness.

Highlighting the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty after the Pahalgam attack, Shehbaz warned that any attempt to disrupt Pakistan’s water rights would trigger a firm response. Calling water Pakistan’s lifeline, he stressed that any such move would be treated as an act of aggression.

Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peace and transparency, Shehbaz expressed willingness to cooperate in a neutral and credible investigation into the Pahalgam incident. He criticised India for making baseless allegations and emphasized Pakistan’s longstanding support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also called for an international probe into the attack, rejecting Indian claims and suggesting the incident could be a “false flag” operation. Asif warned that any aggressive move from India could lead to a devastating conflict, while the UN urged both nations to show maximum restraint.
