NASA Reconnects with Voyager 2 Probe

NASA has successfully reestablished contact with the Voyager 2 spacecraft. Previously, the communication was lost, and efforts to realign its antenna were hindered by mixed signals from Earth.

However, NASA managed to send an “interstellar shout” using its most powerful transmitter, which helped improve the probe’s antenna orientation. As a result, communication was restored, and data started being received from Voyager 2 on August 4.

The interstellar shout was transmitted from a facility in Canberra, Australia, with commands taking 18.5 hours to reach the spacecraft and 37 hours for the return journey. The delay in progress updates was due to this lengthy transmission process.
