App to Initially Launch in Punjab
NADRA Chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Munir Afsar emphasized that the app is designed to streamline public services and enhance database accuracy.
“Citizens can now register vital life events online from their homes. The pilot phase will begin in Punjab,” he announced.
To support this digital shift, biometric verification infrastructure is being extended to union councils across the province. A live demonstration of the app was also presented to officials from the Local Government Department during the meeting.
One-Window Counters for Easy Access
In Islamabad, NADRA is also establishing one-window counters at union councils, making it easier for residents to access registration and documentation services without lengthy delays.
Biometric Policy Underway
The session additionally featured a briefing from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman regarding the development of a national biometric policy. The policy aims to enhance digital identity security and enable integrated biometric systems across Pakistan.
This mobile initiative marks another step in NADRA’s mission to deliver citizen-centric e-governance and improve the efficiency of national registration services.
