Muslim Teacher Assaulted For Arranging Religious Tolerance Event in India

In yet another instance of violence targeting minority communities in India, a Muslim educator faced a physical assault at the hands of a Hindutva mob in Ahmedabad.

A widely circulated video on social media depicts multiple individuals attacking the teacher while police and members of the media were present.

The assault on the Muslim teacher stemmed from their involvement in organizing an event centered on religious tolerance, featuring portrayals of Muslim prayers. The school’s principal explained that this event was planned as a welcoming gesture for a newly enrolled Muslim student, admitted through an educational initiative.

Subsequently, the school issued an apology and removed the video of the event from its social media platforms. Rather than taking action against the mob, local authorities have initiated an investigation against the school.

Since the commencement of Narendra Modi’s leadership in India, incidents of violence against Muslims have significantly escalated. Notably, a video surfaced wherein a Hindu teacher encouraged students to physically harm a Muslim student, leading to the closure of the school by authorities and the registration of a case against the teacher, identified as Tripta Tyagi.
