The Pakistan Army has conducted a rescue operation to recover the body of climber Murad Sadpara from Broad Peak. On the second day of the operation, a six-member team successfully transported Sadpara’s body to the Japanese base camp. It may take up to five more hours to bring the body back to the base camp.

Sadpara was seriously injured in Skardu after being struck by a stone at Camp 1 during his expedition to the 8,047-meter-high Broad Peak Mountain. He was also leading a K2 cleaning campaign. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed her sorrow over Sadpara’s death and offered condolences to his family.
