Man Missing Since 1997 Snowstorm Found Dead in Glacier

Naseeruddin, a Kohistan local who disappeared during a snowstorm in 1997, has finally been laid to rest in his native village after his body was found intact inside a melting glacier—28 years after he went missing.

According to local sources, Naseeruddin was migrating with his family on horseback when a sudden snowstorm hit the region. During the blizzard, he and his horse plunged into a deep crevasse. Despite desperate search efforts by residents, he was never located.

For nearly three decades, his disappearance remained unsolved. His family clung to hope, speculating he may have been abducted, murdered, or taken to an unknown place.

Recently, as glacier ice in the area began melting due to rising temperatures, his preserved body—along with his clothing—was uncovered, astonishingly well-preserved without signs of decay.

The discovery has brought emotional closure to his loved ones and the wider community. Naseeruddin was finally buried in his hometown with prayers and full honors.
