Maryam Nawaz Pledges To Meet Public Expectations As CM

Pakistani politician Maryam Nawaz, the Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is poised to make history as the country’s first woman Chief Minister. She has been nominated as the PML-N’s candidate for this prestigious position after securing victories in both the national and provincial assembly seats, NA-119 and PP-159, respectively.

In a meeting held in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude to the people for entrusting her party with the mandate, leading it to become the single largest political party with a majority in the 2024 polls. She acknowledged the significance of the people’s trust and support, considering them as her most valuable assets, and conveyed her commitment to serving them to the best of her abilities.

Maryam Nawaz dedicated the honor of becoming the first female Chief Minister to every mother, daughter, and sister in the country. She outlined her governance plans, emphasizing that the party has developed a roadmap that prioritizes various sectors at both the government and party levels.

During her address, Maryam emphasized the importance of the elected Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) as her support system. She envisioned each of Punjab’s 297 constituencies as districts under her jurisdiction, emphasizing equal focus on critical sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, law and order, agriculture, and information technology.

Maryam Nawaz’s pledge to fulfill her duties as the provincial chief executive while living up to the expectations of the people of Punjab underscores her commitment to effective governance and addressing the needs of the diverse sectors within the province. If successful in her bid for Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz’s historic appointment would mark a significant milestone for women in Pakistani politics.
