Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. During a law and order meeting, she emphasized the need for increased security measures, including the use of bullet-proof vehicles, armored personnel carriers (APCs), and bullet-proof vests for police officers.
She also approved the expansion of provincial check posts and allocated Rs1 billion to bolster the police force. Special training for officers stationed at these check posts was also endorsed, along with a focus on strengthening border security.

Maryam Nawaz also called for a campaign to eliminate illegal weapons and stressed a non-discriminatory crackdown on criminal elements. She urged a strong response to any attacks on police check posts to prevent future incidents.
In related news, the Punjab Police have enacted a ban on camera use and social media activity by on-duty officers. This follows the suspension of Constable Bahawal Sher, who violated departmental policies by posting a video of himself in uniform with firearms on social media.
