[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]In May, WhatsApp introduced a Chat Lock feature allowing users to secure their chats with device password or biometrics. This hides sensitive chats in a “Locked chats” folder. To further enhance security and privacy, WhatsApp introduces the Secret Code for Chat Lock.
The Secret Code feature allows users to set a unique password, distinct from the device’s password, to conceal the locked chats folder. This folder becomes accessible only by entering the secret code in WhatsApp’s search bar. Users can create the code using letters, numbers, special characters, or emojis. For those who prefer visibility, an option keeps locked chats in the list.

Securing chats is simplified—users can lock a chat by long-pressing, eliminating the need to navigate to chat settings.
The Secret Code feature rollout has begun, expected to reach all users globally in the coming months.
WhatsApp is actively working on additional features, as seen in beta versions. Updates include an improved search feature allowing searches by username, enabling channel owners to invite admins, and providing more shortcuts for locked chats.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
