[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Last week, a person was killed during an anti-terrorist attack drill outside Huawei’s Islamabad office.

The drill was organised by a third party, according to the First Information Report (FIR), to test the security guards’ readiness and abilities in the event of a terrorist attack.

According to news, the drill took place outside Huawei’s office, but it was carried out by a third party rather than Huawei Pakistan.

More importantly, the drill was not reported to the authorities by the third-party vendor who carried it out.

Despite reaching out to Huawei for several days, we were unable to obtain an official response when we filed this story.

According to the FIR, which was filed on March 19th, 2023 by the victim’s father, the security guard opened fire with his “223 rifle,” killing Mudassir, an office boy who worked at the Huawei office building but was on the payroll of a third party. The 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

According to the FIR, the security guard was charged under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Karachi Company police station in Islamabad.

The drill was designed to test security guards’ responses and preparedness in the event of an emergency.

The victim’s family has requested justice and an investigation into the company employees present, in addition to the security guard who witnessed the incident last week. According to the FIR, the deceased’s father stated unequivocally that all staff members present at the scene should be interrogated.

On Huawei’s side, settlement talks are currently underway between the security firm and the contractor to resolve this issue.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
