The Malir Expressway, linking Qayyumabad to Motorway M9, was inaugurated despite being unfinished, raising serious safety concerns. Sections of the expressway are still under construction, with scattered materials, machinery, and active workers on-site, creating hazards for commuters.
Motorcyclists are frequently using the expressway, ignoring safety rules, while the lack of traffic enforcement worsens violations. No pedestrian restrictions or crossings are in place, heightening accident risks. Critical infrastructure, like interchanges at Qayyumabad and Korangi Causeway, remains incomplete, and there is confusion due to absent signage and exit points in the wrong direction.
