Kuala Lumpur will host Malaysia’s inaugural three-day Pakistani tape ball cricket tournament, “Meri Cricket Meri Jeet,” starting June 28, marking a historic moment for the city. The event, organized in partnership with Bank Al Habib and IPG, promises an exciting lineup of regional teams from Pakistan. Teams such as Swat Cheeta, Swabi Champion, Sialkot Badshah, Rawalpindi Express, Buner Bahadur, Karachi Heroes, Lahore Sherdil, and Peshawar Leopards will compete in the tournament.
According to a press release on Monday, the tournament aims to celebrate cricket and foster community spirit among cricket enthusiasts. Admission to the “Meri Cricket Meri Jeet” festival will be free, with activities designed for families and children.

Legendary Pakistani cricketers Sarfraz Ahmed, Rashid Latif, and Imran Nazir will grace the event to encourage and support the participating teams. A highlight of the festival includes a lucky draw with attractive prizes, including a grand prize of a return air ticket to Pakistan. Additionally, fans who catch the ball outside the boundary will have the exclusive opportunity to take photos with the cricket legends.
A joint meeting was recently held at a prominent Pakistani restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together representatives from mainstream Pakistani media in Malaysia, the Malaysia Pakistan Business Council, and dignitaries. Chaired by Dato’ Sri Nazir Mira Salam, Chairman of the Malaysia Pakistan Business Council, the meeting reviewed plans to enhance Pakistan’s positive image through the cricket festival and strengthen ties between Malaysia and Pakistan.
The gathering also discussed preparations to welcome Sarfraz Ahmed, Imran Nazir, and Rashid Latif, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and support for the event. Dato’ Sri Nazir Mira Salam and officials extended their gratitude to the organizers for their efforts in promoting Pakistan’s cultural and sporting excellence abroad.
To further enrich the festival experience, renowned Pakistani singers Jabran Raheel and Sofia Kaif will perform, adding musical delight to the cricket festivities. The meeting was attended by key members of the Pakistan Business Council Malaysia, notable social figures, journalists, and community leaders.
