The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has significantly dropped by Rs70 per kilogram in Pakistan following the arrival of three imported LPG ships at Karachi port.
The cost of LPG has now fallen to Rs180 per kg from the previous Rs270, with expectations of further reductions as the country has ample gas reserves.

The Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has lowered production costs due to the surplus following the arrival of these ships.
Irfan Khokar, Chairman of the LPG Distributors Association, noted that another LPG shipment is anticipated to arrive in Pakistan within the next two to three days, which could further reduce prices. He also suggested that OGDCL’s cost reduction was intended to benefit a select group of people.
In related news, the federal government is likely to announce a reduction in all petroleum product prices, potentially decreasing them by up to Rs5 per litre from June 1. According to local media, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed a reduction in petrol prices by Rs5.27 per litre, bringing the price down from Rs273.10 to Rs267.83. Additionally, high-speed diesel prices may drop by Rs4.13 per litre and light-speed diesel by Rs5 per litre.
