The Kartarpur Corridor continues to serve as a beacon of hope, reuniting individuals who were tragically separated during the partition without the chance to bid each other farewell.
In a remarkable instance, a family experienced a heartwarming reunion after a staggering 76 years, thanks to the power of the internet and the visa-free border crossing.
To provide more details, Muhammad Ismail and his cousin, Surinder Kaur, finally came face to face at the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, putting an end to nearly eight decades of separation.

Reflecting on their lives prior to the partition, Ismail shared that they resided in the town of Shahkot in the Jalandhar district, only to be torn apart by the tragic events of the riots. Despite their tireless efforts to locate their missing family members, their quest remained futile.
So, how did this miraculous reunion come to pass? Ismail attributed the achievement to the efforts of a local YouTuber, the channel Desi Infotainer. He recounted that Mission Singh from Australia reached out to him when his video went viral, providing him with the long-awaited contact details of his missing family members. Despite being in communication for more than four years, the reunion was delayed due to visa complications. Ismail expressed his frustration with the Indian embassy’s response, as all his attempts to secure a visa for the family reunion proved fruitless.
In addition, Surinder Kaur shared her joy at reuniting with her family after many decades of searching in vain following the partition. Her family conducted religious ceremonies at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and extended their gratitude to the Pakistani government for the Kartarpur Corridor.
