A new weather system has entered Punjab, bringing cloudy skies and a chance of light rain in select districts, including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and the Pothohar region.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), most of the province remains under cloud cover, but significant rainfall is unlikely. Lahore, in particular, may see light drizzle, though the system is expected to pass by tonight.

As the weather system exits, chances of rain will further decrease across Punjab. Lahore has recorded a minimum temperature of 8°C, with highs expected to reach 24°C. The city has been experiencing a dry, cool spell, with predictions suggesting a shorter winter due to minimal rainfall.

The PMD has advised residents to expect stable weather conditions, with no major temperature drops anticipated despite the cloudy skies.

Yesterday, Lahore and other districts in Punjab experienced cooler, cloudier conditions. The PMD forecasts overcast skies for the next two days, with minimal rainfall and mild temperatures expected to persist.

While light rain may fall in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Pothohar, the overall weather trend points to continued cloudiness rather than heavy rain. Meteorologists believe this system provides only a brief break from the winter chill before clearer skies return.
