The Lahore High Court Bar has formally challenged the 26th Constitutional Amendment in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Hamid Khan has filed a constitutional petition on behalf of the LHC Bar, seeking a declaration that various clauses of the amendment are unconstitutional. The specific sections contested include 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 21.
In the petition, the petitioner urges the court to invalidate the steps taken under these contested sections of the constitutional amendment. Furthermore, the petition requests that any actions by the judicial commission and related entities be restrained while the matter is under judicial review.
