LDC Islamabad Confirms Six Official Eid ul Adha Cattle Markets

The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has announced the establishment of six official cattle markets in different areas of the federal capital ahead of Eid ul Adha, with operations set to commence from May 10.

According to the district administration, the designated cattle markets will be established at Zia Masjid, I-12, Barakahu, Lehtrar Road near Sultana Foundation, Sangjani, and Japan Road. The initiative aims to facilitate the organized sale and purchase of sacrificial animals before Eid ul Adha.

The deputy commissioner has directed all concerned departments to complete necessary arrangements related to parking, cleanliness, and security before the markets officially open to the public. Authorities have been instructed to ensure proper management so that citizens can visit the markets conveniently and safely.

Officials stated that strict monitoring would be carried out to prevent overcharging and unauthorized fee collection inside the cattle markets. The administration warned that any complaints regarding excessive charges beyond officially approved rates would be addressed immediately.

To maintain order and supervise market activities, a magistrate will remain present at each cattle market on a 24-hour basis. The administration said the presence of magistrates would help ensure transparency and resolve public complaints promptly.

In addition, authorities have been directed to work closely with traffic police to maintain smooth traffic flow on roads surrounding the cattle markets, especially during peak hours when large numbers of buyers are expected.

The district administration also announced that the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals outside officially approved cattle markets would not be allowed anywhere in Islamabad. Officials warned that strict action would be taken against individuals setting up illegal cattle sale points in unauthorized areas.

The move is part of efforts by the Islamabad administration to ensure better management, public convenience, hygiene, and security during the Eid ul Adha season, when thousands of citizens visit cattle markets to purchase sacrificial animals.
