The Lahore Development Authority has approved commercialization of four major roads in Lahore to expand business activity and urban development opportunities.
The newly approved routes include College Road, Defense Road, GT Road, and Barki Road, all designated for commercial use after formal governing body approval.
Officials said the decision aims to encourage investment, increase property value, and improve infrastructure along key corridors linking residential zones with commercial hubs.
The meeting was chaired by Mian Marghoob Ahmed, while Tahir Farooq briefed members about reforms, development proposals, and regulatory amendments discussed during session.
Participants also approved changes to LDA rules aligned with provincial housing reforms and recommended conditional completion of the city’s Master Plan 2050.
In addition, the authority endorsed replanning the sewage treatment plant site in LDA City and approved new plot transfer services for residents.
