Videos broadcasted on local media depicted a large gathering of lawyers protesting at Lahore’s well-known GPO Chowk, while law enforcement personnel resorted to baton charging to disperse the demonstrators.Substantial contingents of the Lahore police force were deployed and employed tear gas and baton charges to halt the protests led by members of the Punjab Bar Council, Lahore Bar Association (LBA), and other legal bodies.

Several lawyers sustained injuries during the altercation, and the traffic flow in the city was severely disrupted.
The confrontations ensued after the decision by lawyers to organize a protest rally against various issues, including the proposed relocation of Lahore’s civil courts and the filing of terrorism-related charges against legal practitioners.
