Five teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, namely Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, and Multan Sultans, have revealed their choices for replacement draft picks.

The defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, have introduced two partial replacements to their squad. Lorcan Tucker, an Irish wicketkeeper-batsman, will fill in for English batter Dan Lawrence, who was only partially available for PSL 9. Salman Fayyaz, a Pakistani cricketer, will take the place of Sri Lankan batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa.

Karachi Kings had Tim Seiffert, a wicketkeeper-batsman, partially available in their squad. However, he will now be replaced by Pakistani cricketer Fawad Ali. Additionally, England’s bowling all-rounder, Jamie Overton, will not be available for the Kings throughout the season, and he will be substituted by Zimbabwean speedster Blessing Muzarabani.

For Multan Sultans, English fast bowler Olly Stone will step in as a partial replacement for Reece Topley in the second phase of the season. Also, left-arm spin-bowler Sufyan Muqeem will be replaced by English all-rounder Paul Walter in the Peshawar Zalmi squad.

Quetta Gladiators, the 2019 PSL champions, had a reserved spot in their team, and they have chosen Usman Tariq as their replacement pick. Additionally, Quetta’s prominent Sri Lankan spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga, was only available for five PSL matches, and he will be substituted by Umar Amin.

This strategic move aims to enhance the team dynamics and ensure that each squad is well-prepared for the challenges and competitions in PSL 9.
