The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic Police, Muhammad Athar Waheed, has directed officers to take firm action against illegal parking stands in Lahore. He stressed strict enforcement and a zero-tolerance approach to road encroachments.

The City Traffic Police has initiated the “First Clean, Then Clear” campaign to address encroachments disrupting traffic flow. Warnings were issued last week to individuals involved in illegal parking and encroachments, urging adherence to regulations.

DIG Waheed emphasized that unauthorized parking lots are a major cause of traffic congestion. He instructed authorities to penalize and detain violators to eliminate such practices.

Reaffirming the department’s commitment to maintaining clear roads, the DIG underscored the importance of ensuring smooth traffic flow. He warned of strict legal consequences for those breaching the rules.
