Thousands Fined Lahore Traffic Police Cracks Down on Violations

The Lahore Traffic Police intensified its operations over the past three days, targeting traffic violations across the city. Thousands of fines were issued, and numerous vehicles were impounded to improve road safety and traffic flow.

During the crackdown, the Lahore Traffic Police fined 10,982 motorcyclists for riding without helmets. 5,389 vehicles were issued challans for one-way violations. Officers also impounded 1,536 motorcycles and 753 vehicles involved in one-way violations to enforce compliance.

Lane discipline was another key focus. 1,754 vehicles were fined for violating lane rules, and 245 vehicles were taken into custody for repeated offenses. Authorities also targeted vehicles with fake, tampered, or missing number plates. 1,495 challans were issued, and 208 vehicles were impounded during the campaign.

Cases were registered against 16 individuals for wrong parking, obstructing traffic, setting up illegal parking stands, and creating encroachments on city roads. These actions are part of Lahore Traffic Police’s efforts to ensure smooth traffic and prevent congestion.

Athar Waheed directed officers to maintain strict and impartial enforcement. He emphasized that preventing road accidents is the top priority. Traffic personnel remain deployed around the clock to assist commuters and maintain safe travel throughout the city.

The Lahore Traffic Police campaign reflects a strong commitment to public safety and proper enforcement of traffic laws. Authorities said similar operations will continue in the coming days to curb violations, reduce accidents, and improve overall traffic management in Lahore.
