Lahore Police Arrest 667 for Violating Kite Flying Ban Before Eid

Lahore Police have arrested 679 individuals and registered 667 cases in an ongoing crackdown against illegal kite flying this year, according to a police spokesperson.

Authorities seized over 22,000 kites and 847 string reels during the operations. Arrests were recorded across various city divisions: 142 in City Division, 232 in Cantonment, 41 in Civil Lines, 44 in Sadr, 91 in Iqbal Town, and 129 in Model Town.

CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana warned of strict legal action against those using metal strings, emphasizing zero tolerance for endangering lives. He also directed intelligence-based operations to dismantle illegal kite manufacturing networks.

Reaffirming his commitment to enforcing the Kite Flying Act, he stressed that violators would be brought to justice. The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s surveillance system will be actively used to prevent further incidents.
