Kylian Mbappe, the French World Cup winner, has reportedly turned down “several tens of millions” of euros to facilitate a potential departure from Paris Saint-Germain, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

Mbappe’s contract, set to conclude in June 2024, sees him forgo nearly 60 million euros in bonuses, a strategic move that lightens the financial load on the club, possibly signaling his intention to leave. While the forward remains tight-lipped about his future, speculations link him with clubs like long-time admirers Real Madrid and rumored interest from Liverpool.

Having extended his contract in 2022, Mbappe boasts a substantial annual salary of 72 million euros, along with a remarkable signing bonus of 150 million euros and loyalty bonuses potentially reaching 90 million euros by the third year.

As a free agent come June, Mbappe is expected to seek a substantial signing-on fee from potential suitors, with Real Madrid emerging as front-runners. The ongoing silence between PSG and Mbappe regarding a new contract suggests tension, leaving supporters in anticipation and doubt.
