Barrister Saif, Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, announced the imposition of a curfew under Section 144 in Kurram to restore law and order. The provincial government is finalizing consultations before issuing an official notification.
Authorities stated that strict action will be taken against miscreants during the curfew, with weapons possession treated as terrorism and offenders facing severe consequences. The decision follows an attack on the convoy of Kurram’s Deputy Commissioner. Security officials, during a high-level meeting in Kohat, resolved to take decisive measures against those responsible.

Key steps include implementing curfews during convoy movements, enforcing strict security on main roads, temporarily relocating residents if operations are necessary, and suspending compensation in affected areas until suspects are surrendered. Government employees found supporting sectarian unrest will face disciplinary actions.
Local leaders have been warned to hand over suspects involved in the January 4 attack. Non-compliance will result in decisive operations, including clearance efforts in sensitive areas.
