The meeting discussed preparations for the new MDCAT and stated that 46,220 registered candidates would participate. Examination centers will be established in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), Kohat, and Lower Dir. A committee led by the additional chief secretary will oversee the plan’s execution.
The government approved Khyber Medical University’s (KMU) action plan to ensure transparency in the MDCAT, which will be conducted in the province. Furthermore, 219 candidates involved in cheating during the previous test have been blacklisted. Already registered MDCAT 2023 candidates will not be charged a fee for the fresh test.
In the original MDCAT held on September 10, 180,534 students across Pakistan appeared, with many students arrested for cheating using Bluetooth devices. The detainees were found to have used VIP passes and paid for solved papers.
The caretaker Sindh government had also announced a re-conduct of MDCAT 2023 on November 19 due to cheating, to be administered through the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
