The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly has rescheduled its session to address the mysterious disappearance of Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur, following his participation in a PTI protest in Islamabad. Conflicting reports suggest Gandapur may have been arrested, although PTI and government sources provide differing accounts.

After bypassing police barricades with protesters, Gandapur reportedly left KP House and disappeared, sparking rumors of his arrest. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi denied Gandapur’s arrest, claiming there was evidence of him fleeing his residence, leaving his whereabouts uncertain.

In response to the confusion, KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati called an emergency session to discuss the CM’s disappearance and the alleged mistreatment of PTI protesters by security forces. The agenda includes addressing the use of force against demonstrators and the damage to government property during the protests.

PTI officials have warned of serious consequences if Gandapur has been arrested, while the KP government spokesperson clarified that he remains on bail until October 25.

Despite clarifications, PTI leaders like Omar Ayub Khan insist Gandapur was arrested, further fueling political tensions. The KP Assembly session is expected to clarify the CM’s status and address the rising political unrest.
