KP Adds Life Insurance to Sehat Card Plus

In a significant effort to enhance social protection for residents, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced the integration of life insurance into the Sehat Card Plus program. This decision was made during a recent meeting aimed at improving the healthcare initiative.

The meeting, held on Monday, featured key officials including Health Advisor Ahtisham Ali and Finance Advisor Muzzamil Aslam, alongside representatives from the Health Department and the State Life Insurance Corporation. They engaged in discussions about various facets of the Sehat Card Plus initiative.

During the talks, Gandapur addressed concerns regarding the suspension of cardiac surgeries at the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC) under the Sehat Card Plus scheme. He instructed officials to ensure that these surgeries resume promptly, assuring that the government would cover any additional costs incurred.

The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the Sehat Card Plus program as a flagship initiative of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, which aims to provide comprehensive medical coverage. He called for increased transparency and accountability within the program and announced plans to include reputable hospitals in the Sehat Card panel to enhance healthcare access, particularly for citizens in remote areas.
