KFC has closed its 537 outlets in Turkey after its local franchise collapsed under financial strain, as public anger over the Gaza conflict intensified. The chain struggled with mounting debt and declining demand, fueled by a growing boycott of Western brands across Muslim countries.

The Gaza war, ongoing since October 2023, has resulted in 50,000 Palestinian deaths and widespread destruction, triggering global protests. Critics accuse companies like KFC of indirectly supporting Israeli policies, prompting boycotts.
