In a shocking incident in Karachi’s Korangi area, a female thief successfully robbed a motorcyclist after asking for a lift. The victim reported the theft to the Awami Colony police station, seeking to file a First Information Report (FIR).
According to the victim’s account, the woman approached him at Singer Chowrangi in Korangi, requesting a ride. Armed and wearing a mask, she was accompanied by three accomplices on two motorcycles. When the victim asked her to get off near Korangi No 5 Model Park, she brandished a weapon from her handbag, threatening him.

The mugger stole the victim’s cash and mobile phone before fleeing with her accomplices on a motorcycle.
This incident highlights the alarming rise in crime in Karachi, where the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) reported that nearly 471 people have lost their lives due to various crimes in the first nine months of 2024. Among these, almost 100 fatalities occurred during street crimes. The deteriorating law and order situation in the city has also led to the theft of over 15,000 mobile phones and 35,000 motorcycles during the same period.
