During an interview, Junaid expressed his opinion that negative comments or accusations made against teammates can negatively affect the unity among national players.
Junaid mentioned that Imam made comments about the inclusion of Iftikhar and Haris, which is not appropriate as he is not a selector or captain. According to Junaid, when Imam was not part of the T20 World Cup 2022 squad, he used to share his analysis on TV, which Junaid believes is wrong. He further added that current players should not be allowed to sit on TV shows and express their opinions about the team according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Imam’s cryptic tweet a few hours before the last match of the series created controversy on social media and raised questions about selection as he had won the Player of the Match Award in the third ODI for his fifty.
When asked about the tweet, Babar Azam, the captain, said he had not seen it as he had not checked any social media handles since the tweet. Days later, Rashid Latif claimed that it was Imam’s decision to rest in the fourth game while the management was keen to include Shan Masood instead of Fakhar Zaman.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
