JIT Summons 15 More PTI Members Over Alleged Negative Social Media Campaign

The federal government’s Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned 15 additional Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members over allegations of spreading negative propaganda on social media.

The list of summoned figures includes Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Rauf Hassan, Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Mohammad Khalid Khurshid Khan, Mian Mohammad Aslam Iqbal, Mohammad Hamad Azhar, Aoun Abbas, Aliya Hamza Malik, Mohammad Shahbaz Shabbir, Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shauzab, Taimoor Saleem Khan, Asad Qaiser, and Shah Farman. According to sources, the JIT has substantial evidence to question these individuals regarding their alleged anti-state activities.

The summonses, which were sent via official notices, require them to appear on March 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM for questioning by a team led by the Inspector General of Police in Islamabad. This investigation follows earlier summonses issued to 10 members of the PTI social media team for similar allegations.
