In a significant development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has put a halt to the issuance of three-month visit visas. This decision was officially confirmed by a call center executive at the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP).

According to the call center executive, the three-month entry permit, which was available a few months ago, is no longer being offered. However, the option for 30- or 60-day visas remains accessible.

This change has also been verified by travel agents who have noted that the three-month visit visa request feature has been removed from the permit issuance portal they typically utilize.

It’s worth mentioning that the 60-day visa was introduced as an alternative when the UAE authorities discontinued the three-month visit visa during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the three-month scheme was reinstated in May as a leisure visa.

Importantly, even though the three-month facility has been discontinued for the general public, first-degree relatives of UAE residents can still make use of it. Residents are permitted to bring their parents or relatives under the three-month scheme, as confirmed by the call center executive.

Firoz Maliyakkal, the founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels, has reported that the issuance of long-term leisure visas has been temporarily suspended. He mentioned that the demand for these visas was on the rise due to the upcoming winter months.
