ITP Launches Virtual Driving License Service for Islamabad Residents

Residents in Islamabad now have the convenience of obtaining their driving licenses from the comfort of their homes, thanks to the newly launched online facility by the Capital Police.

This initiative, directed by Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, aims to enhance the citizens’ convenience.

According to a public relations officer, the Virtual Driving License is specifically designed for residents of the federal capital. To access this online service, citizens need to visit the official website and download their virtual licenses by entering details such as their National Identity Card number, driving license number, and expiration date.

The introduction of this online facility is expected to streamline the process of acquiring driving licenses, providing a simplified method for residents. Additionally, citizens can use this platform to conveniently renew their driving licenses online.

Recent statistics from Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) indicate that in 2023, they issued 48,347 new driving licenses, renewed 20,375 licenses, and granted 95,333 learner permits. Furthermore, ITP successfully implemented an internationally recognized driving license in two languages the previous year.
