The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis’ efforts have led to new employment openings for Pakistani workers in Europe, particularly Italy. A ministry spokesperson confirmed that Italy has set aside a quota of 10,500 jobs for Pakistani nationals following an appeal by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhary Salik Hussain to Italian authorities.
Under the arrangement, 3,500 Pakistanis will go to Italy on employment visas, including 1,500 under the seasonal quota and 2,000 under the non-seasonal quota. The remaining vacancies will be filled through various sector-based allocations.
Job opportunities span multiple fields such as shipbreaking, hospitality, healthcare, and agriculture. Roles are also available for welders, technicians, chefs, waiters, housekeepers, nurses, medical technicians, and farmers.
Chaudhary Salik Hussain congratulated the nation on securing the job quota and announced that a Pakistan–Italy joint working group meeting is scheduled to take place in Islamabad in February 2026. He described the initiative as a significant step toward expanding Pakistani workers’ access to the European labor market and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating quality overseas employment opportunities.
