At least 95 Palestinians were killed and 440 injured in the last 24 hours across Gaza due to Israeli airstrikes, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The escalating violence continues to devastate civilian infrastructure, with hospitals overwhelmed and essential aid blocked.

According to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, miscarriage and premature birth rates have surged sixfold, putting over 50,000 pregnant and nursing women at serious risk. Fuel and medical shortages have rendered over 23 hospitals non-functional, leaving 12,000 cancer patients untreated, and causing a 41% mortality rate among dialysis patients, reports Middle East Monitor.
Aid Suspended Amid Attacks on Civilians
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by the U.S. and Israel, has suspended aid operations after Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians at a distribution site, killing 27 and injuring more than 100. Since GHF began operations on May 27, over 100 people seeking aid have been killed near its centres.
The Israeli military declared roads to distribution centres “combat zones” and warned civilians to stay away, intensifying international condemnation. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an independent investigation into the attacks.
“It is unacceptable that Palestinians are risking their lives for food,” said Guterres.
Regional Escalation: Strikes on Syria and Yemen
In a separate development, Israel claimed responsibility for airstrikes in southern Syria, targeting weapons allegedly belonging to the Assad regime. This comes after projectiles were launched from Syria into the Golan Heights. The Syrian Foreign Ministry denied involvement and warned of destabilizing actors in the region.
Simultaneously, Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed a missile attack on Tel Aviv, stating it was in solidarity with Gaza.
War Crimes Acknowledged
Former U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller admitted in a podcast interview that “Israel has committed war crimes” in Gaza, citing a lack of accountability. Hamas called the remarks a “significant acknowledgement” and accused the U.S. of concealing Israel’s atrocities.
Mounting Death Toll
Since October 7, 2023, 54,607 Palestinians have been killed and over 125,000 injured, per Gaza health authorities. Post-ceasefire (since March), Israel has killed 4,335 more Palestinians. The conflict has displaced 90% of Gaza’s population, ignited a hunger crisis, and left vast areas in ruins.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) and International Court of Justice (ICJ) are currently investigating Israel for war crimes and genocide, with arrest warrants issued against PM Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.
