Israel’s Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, announced on Monday that Israel is intensifying its actions against the Gaza Strip, moving towards a “complete blockade,” which includes prohibiting the entry of food and fuel. This decision comes in response to a surprise offensive launched by Hamas that caught Israel off guard.

Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp, as reported by Gaza’s health ministry, resulted in the deaths and injuries of numerous Palestinians.

Since Saturday, when Hamas initiated attacks on Israel and launched thousands of rockets into the country, Israel has carried out numerous airstrikes on Gaza.

As of Monday, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 560, according to the health ministry within the Palestinian enclave. The ministry controlled by Hamas has reported an even higher figure, stating that “570 people have been killed, and another 2,900 have been injured” since the conflict began on Saturday, when Hamas fighters launched a surprise offensive by firing thousands of rockets into Israel at dawn.
