Driver Booked Under Terrorism Charges in Islamabad for Assaulting Traffic Police Officials

A driver in Islamabad has been booked under terrorism charges after reportedly assaulting two traffic police officers during a heated confrontation. The incident occurred near Blue Area, where the suspect allegedly attacked officials following a traffic violation stop.

According to police reports, the driver became aggressive when asked to present his driving documents. Witnesses claim he struck one officer and tried to flee the scene, prompting nearby officers to intervene and detain him.

Both injured officers were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, where they were declared out of danger. The Islamabad Traffic Police strongly condemned the assault, calling it an attack on state authority and public order.

Authorities have confirmed that a case has been registered under terrorism and assault sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. Officials say strict legal action will be taken to ensure the safety and respect of law enforcement personnel.

Senior police officers stated that incidents involving violence against public servants will not be tolerated under any circumstances. They emphasized that maintaining law and order requires cooperation from all citizens.

The suspect has been remanded into police custody for interrogation, and further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
