[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]An Islamabad district and sessions court has issued a production order for Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Bushra Bibi. The order was made in response to their request for bail in cases related to alleged forgery of receipts for Toshakhana gifts and violent protests on May 9. ‘
District and sessions judge Tahir Abbas Sipra issued the order, directing the superintendent of Adiala jail to bring the couple before the court on April 4. This decision comes after another court granted a similar request for Khan and PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi to appear on April 20 in connection with the Parliament attack case.

During the hearing, Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjotha argued that the jail superintendent had failed to comply with past court orders and urged the court to ensure adherence to instructions and facilitate Khan’s appearance. Panjotha also raised concerns about the malfunctioning of the internet connection at Adiala jail, particularly when it came to arranging video link meetings with Khan. He alleged that the superintendent was hesitant to set up a video link for PTI’s founder.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
