Islamabad Airport will temporarily halt flight operations on several days in August. The Pakistan Airport Authority announced these suspensions due to rehearsals for the Independence Day parade.
According to an official Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), flights arriving and departing from the Airport will be stopped on August 6 to 9 and August 11 to 14. These suspensions will take place during specific time periods to allow parade rehearsals.
On August 11, 12, and 13, the Airport will not handle any flights between 8 pm and 10 pm. In addition, the Airport will also close flights from 11 am to 1 pm on several days within the eight-day period.
Airlines have been advised not to schedule flights during these times. Passengers are urged to check their flight details carefully and stay updated on any schedule changes to avoid inconvenience.
The temporary suspension of flights at the Airport is part of the security and logistical preparations for Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebrations. The parade will be held with full ceremonial activities in the federal capital.
Travelers are encouraged to confirm their flight timings with airlines ahead of time. The Airport authorities emphasize cooperation to ensure smooth rehearsals and successful national celebrations.
This temporary closure reflects the Airport’s role in supporting national events while managing passenger convenience. Passengers are reminded to stay alert to announcements from their airlines and the Airport.
