Ishaq Dar Attends Istanbul Meeting as Muslim Nations Discuss Gaza Reconstruction

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is in Istanbul to participate in a high-level meeting of Muslim nations focused on Gaza’s reconstruction. The gathering aims to develop a unified strategy for rebuilding the war-ravaged Palestinian territory and supporting its humanitarian needs.

Dar, representing Pakistan, emphasized the importance of collective action among Muslim countries to assist Gaza’s people, who continue to suffer from widespread destruction and shortages of essential supplies.

The conference, hosted by Turkey, brings together foreign ministers and senior officials from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states. Participants are expected to discuss funding mechanisms, coordination of aid delivery, and political efforts to sustain peace.

During his address, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine and condemned Israel’s ongoing blockade, calling it a violation of international law and basic human rights. He urged Muslim nations to transform words of solidarity into concrete steps.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also addressed the session, highlighting the urgency of rebuilding Gaza’s infrastructure, hospitals, and schools, and calling on the global community to act beyond statements of concern.

The Istanbul meeting is seen as a key moment for Muslim unity, aiming to present a coordinated plan for Gaza’s recovery and long-term stability.
