Iranian Delegation Leaves Islamabad as Talks End Without Breakthrough

The Iranian delegation has departed Islamabad and returned to Tehran after taking part in high-level discussions that ultimately concluded without a breakthrough.

Senior Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, were present to see off the visiting delegation.

The Iranian side was led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who had arrived in Islamabad for crucial negotiations.

The talks, which continued for nearly 21 hours, failed to produce a final agreement. A separate US delegation headed by Vice President JD Vance also left Pakistan without reaching a deal.

Following the discussions, both sides exchanged blame, reflecting ongoing tensions and a persistent lack of trust despite prolonged diplomatic efforts.
