Iran Signals Strong Response Over UK Allowing US Base Use

Iran has warned that any assistance to US forces will be considered direct involvement in ongoing conflicts.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with his British counterpart to convey Tehran’s position. He said that allowing the United States access to military bases would be regarded as participation in aggression.

According to Iran, countries providing such assistance could be seen as part of the conflict. The Iranian leadership also indicated that US military bases might be treated as potential targets if tensions escalate.

Earlier, Araghchi stressed that Iran has so far deployed only a limited portion of its military capabilities. He warned that any renewed attack on Iranian infrastructure would trigger a severe response.

In a statement on X, the foreign minister said that Iran had acted with restraint and responded to international requests. He noted that the current defensive measures reflect only a small share of Iran’s strength and that a peaceful resolution requires addressing damage to civilian populations.

Araghchi emphasized that all Iranian actions are defensive. Any further attack or threat against the country would face a firm and comprehensive response. He also highlighted the importance of restraint and constructive measures to maintain peace in the region.

Meanwhile, US broadcaster CNN reported that an F-35 stealth aircraft made an emergency landing at a US base in the Middle East after coming under fire. A US B-52 bomber also returned safely to Britain.
