Israel Strikes Deep Inside Iran

Israel launched extensive airstrikes across Iran, hitting targets from Tehran in the north to Mashhad in the east—the farthest attack of the conflict, approximately 2,300 km from Israel. Key sites struck included:

  • Mashhad Airport in northeastern Iran
  • Fuel depots in Tehran, sending thick plumes of smoke over the capital
  • Iran’s Defense Ministry headquarters and a foreign ministry building, injuring several employees
  • A residential building in downtown Tehran, killing at least five people

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Iran would pay a “heavy price” for civilian casualties in Israel, where Iranian missile strikes have killed 13 people and wounded 380 since Friday.

Iran Retaliates with Ballistic Missiles

Iran fired a new wave of ballistic missiles at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Ashkelon. The Iranian military warned Israelis to flee occupied territories, declaring they would soon become “uninhabitable.”

In Israel, residential areas bore the brunt of the attacks:

  • Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv: Six killed, 180 injured in a missile strike
  • Tamra in northern Israel: A three-story building destroyed, killing four women

Civilian Precautions and Regional Tensions

With no end in sight, Iran began converting mosques, metro stations, and schools into makeshift bomb shelters. Meanwhile, gas stations in Tehran saw long queues as residents prepared for further strikes.

The conflict has heightened fears of a broader Middle East war. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi accused Israel of trying to sabotage nuclear talks with the U.S., while Netanyahu claimed Israel had killed Iran’s intelligence chief in recent strikes.

U.S. Involvement

A senior U.S. official revealed that President Donald Trump blocked an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, urging restraint.

As both nations brace for further attacks, the international community watches anxiously, concerned the violence could spiral into a wider regional conflict.
