The former cricket legend Inzamam-ul-Haq has stepped down from his role as Chief Selector of the Pakistan cricket team. Reports indicate that he submitted his resignation to Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), amidst allegations of a potential conflict of interest and his alleged involvement with the players’ agent, Talha Rahmani.
Earlier today, the PCB Chairman called Inzamam-ul-Haq to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to investigate these claims. According to reports, Inzamam-ul-Haq was accused of having a business partnership with the players’ agent Talha Rahmani in the United Kingdom. There were also allegations of his ownership and profit-sharing involvement with the British company Yazoo.

These allegations have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest since Talha Rahmani legally represents several prominent Pakistani cricketers, including the national team’s captain, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
In a recent interview with a local news channel, Zaka Ashraf alluded to the possibility of launching an inquiry into Inzamam’s alleged association with a players’ agent’s firm. The aim of this inquiry would be to ensure that the process of selecting players for the national cricket team remains free from conflicts of interest and upholds the highest standards of integrity.
